Widdall Architects is a full service architectural firm, equally able to aid clients in feasibility analysis, planning an expansion to an existing facility, or designing an entirely new building. The firm has extensive experience in the design of medical and healthcare projects (both hospital inpatient and outpatient facilities), commercial projects and higher education projects for colleges and universities.
The firm’s expertise in healthcare design is such that even other architectural firms have utilized the firm as a consultant on their healthcare projects. Widdall Architects’ healthcare experience spans geographically from southern New York state to southcentral Pennsylvania and into Maryland. The firm is well-versed in subjects such as infection control, national healthcare design standards and current design trends.
Past projects have included outpatient oncology centers, an outpatient pain management center, an outpatient neurosurgery center, as well as inpatient general surgery suites, a dedicated cardiac surgery suite, and one of the only specifically-dedicated trauma operatories in the mid-Atlantic states. The firm also has experience in heart catheterization labs, as well as medical imaging of all sorts, such as 64-slice computerized tomography (C.T.), fluoroscopy, cystoscopy, digital radiography, nuclear camera, mammography, and ultrasound suites as well as PACS reading rooms. In addition, the firm has had experience with pediatric, bariatric, renal dialysis, and internal medicine facilities, as well as physical, cardio-pulmonary, aquatic, occupational, audio and speech therapy facilities.
Widdall Architects also has extensive experience in working as part of a design-build team, as well as in providing projects in the more tradition design-bid method.
The firm is known for its attention to detail and its follow-through on projects from inception through construction. Its capabilities have brought many return clients, including one client for which the firm has completed nearly sixty individual projects.
